Bedrooms  & Suite

The Family Suite measures about 70m² (750 sq ft), a Large “Confort” bedroom with a 160 cm bed (5’3″) measures about 22m² (225 sq ft) & a Cosy bedroom with a 140 cm bed (4’6″) measures about 12m² (115 sq ft).

The Family Suite comprises two bedrooms – one with a bed 160 cm (5’3″) wide & the other with two single 90 cm (3′) beds.  One of the “Confort” bedrooms can accomodate an additional 90 cm (3′) bed too.

Evening Meal

Adds 30 Euros per person on top for our 4-course meal. This includes  a complimentary home-made aperitif served before dinner as a nice ice-breaker to meet your fellow diners. Children are given the same food as their parents – those aged 9 to 12 inclusive at 22 Euros & those aged 8 and under having a half-portion for 15 Euros. Children’s meals include a soft drink.

Having dinner at La Belle Demeure is not at all compulsory, but must be reserved by prior arrangement. While this price does not include wine, coffee, bottled water etc., we are a licensed establishment so your meal can be accompanied by your choice from our reasonably priced list of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. If you have any particular food allergies/dislikes, do let us know at the time of booking.

As we do serve dinner and have a drinks menu, please note that we do ask you not to picnic or to consume your own food and drink on the premises.

We can also organise other meal options as of 5€, so please do contact us for details as these need to be reserved in advance.

ARRIVal times

Between 4pm and 7pm.  However, do consult us well beforehand should you fall outside these hours.

Late arrivals

For any unarranged arrivals after 7pm, please be aware that you may be refused entry to the house.  Subsequently, your booking will be treated as a late cancellation with no possibility to re-let.


Free and password protected. We make every effort to ensure a good connection and there are some parts of the house which are more receptive than others. We are also in the countryside, so the speed is not very high but good enough for most surfing.

your reservation

We respectfully remind guests that a reservation constitutes a contract between you and La Belle Demeure. In the event of cancellations, alterations or reduction of numbers by the client, we will undertake to mitigate our losses and to re-let the room at similar rates.

The Guest will be responsible for the loss incurred by La Belle Demeure in the event that rooms remain unoccupied, or are occupied at a lower rate than was originally booked. The cancellation charges imposed by La Belle Demeure will therefore reflect the any loss.

A Confirmed booking, which is subsequently postponed, may be treated as a cancellation.

We will ask you for ‘Arrhes’ at the time of booking, equating to 50% of the accommodation part of your stay.

If you need to cancel more than 6 weeks prior to your arrival date, refund your deposit ‘arrhes’, we will levy a 15€ administration fee (plus any PayPal/Bank/Exchange rate fluctuations). We will keep any prepayment made if you cancel less than 3 weeks prior to your arrival.

If you need to cancel 3 weeks or less prior to your arrival date, we will ask you to settle the remaining 50% of your projected stay.

For any large or long-stay bookings, different conditions apply regarding pre-payment.

This also applies if you need to shorten your stay once you have arrived, for whatever reason.  

For peace of mind, we strongly recommend that you take out holiday insurance while you are away from home.

We can accept babies but only in the larger ‘Confort’ bedrooms or the Family Suite.  Please add 10 Euros per night to the respective tariff found in the grid above.  We must be notified of you bringing your children with you at the time of booking.


Once you pass the front gate, the house, the Family Suite and the outside areas are strictly non-smoking.

However, we have set up a « Smoker’s Corner » with chairs and table in the courtyard.

swimming pool

In front of the house is the swimming pool which measures 8m x 4m, with a depth of 1.20m. Open from May to September it is, however, unheated.


You can park in our field which is opposite the house, on the other side of the road. While not being covered or fenced in, this land is private and is for the exclusive use of our guests.


Please note we do not accept credit or debit cards and that cash payments need to be in Euros. Contact us to verify the best method of guaranteeing your reservation if you do not hold a French Bank account.


We can accept prepayment for your stay by PayPal. In some cases, using this will be necessary in order to organise your deposit. Your final bill will include the commission charged to us by PayPal.


We can accommodate up to 14 people at La Belle Demeure. For any large or long-stay bookings, certain conditions apply regarding pre-payment.


Due to the set up of the house, and for the respect of other guests staying with us, we are not at all suitable for guests attending functions/weddings. 


We regret that we cannot welcome any animals here at La Belle Demeure.  Contact us for details about kennels nearby.  We would, although, like to inform you that we have a Golden Retriever, Lennox! Thank you for your understanding.


As of March 17th 2020 at noon, outings throughout France will only be authorized, with a certificate, to:

  • Go to work, if remote working is not possible;
  • Go to your local grocery store;
  • Go to a medical appointment;
  • Take your children to daycare or to take care of an elderly person;
  • To work out close to your home.

Please do not book with us in advance if you are too concerned about how COVID-19 could affect your holiday plans.  You can always try to contact us much nearer to the time of travel should you wish to stay.

If prior to your arrival (and during the same period of your stay) the Dordogne falls into one of the countries/territories that the MEAE advises you should avoid travelling to, we will refund all monies paid to us (less any handling fees) should you wish to cancel.   We would be delighted if you would just like to postpone your stay instead.

Should you fall ill with COVID-19 (medical proof required from the authorities) or if your area is suddenly placed in quarantine while you’re were meant to stay here, we will accept to postpone your stay (for the same number of nights & rooms but subject to the new period’s rates) until another date within 2 years of your initial planned arrival date, subject to availability.  We will keep any deposits or ‘Arrhes’ settled in advance, but will not impose any re-booking fees.   

If you have recently travelled to any countries/territories against government advice  (i.e. on the MEAE’s list), then we will not be able to accommodate you nor refund any deposits or ‘Arrhes’ settled in advance.

This is an evolving situation and we are trying to deal with this in the fairest way possible from both your & our perspective.   It may be a good idea to contact your holiday insurance company to verify where you stand with them.
